Celebrating 25 years of Antiquing Bliss
Vernon Kilns "Ultra California" Pink Carnation Cups & Saucers - Set of 4 - image 1 of 8

Vernon Kilns was the name used by Vernon Potteries, Ltd. The company, which started in 1912 in Vernon, California, was originally called Poxon China. In 1931 the company was sold and renamed Vernon Kilns. It made dinnerware and figurines until it went out of business in 1953. Their main competition was J A Bauer and Pacific Clay Products.

This lovely mid-century modern design, Set of 4 Cups & Saucers, circa 1937-1942, was named Ultra California. Produced in a variety of solid pastel and darker shades, it has the distinctive "Ultra" upside down handles designed by Jane Bennison, daughter of Faye Bennison, who was head of the company. The saucers measure 6 1/4" across, the cups measure 3 7/8" across the top and 2" in height. All pieces are stamped with a version of "Ultra California - Vernon Kilns Authentic California Pottery - Made in U.S.A." There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. An extra cup will be included with each set of 4.
