The Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company was founded in the year 1886. The initial name for the company was Alvin Mfg. Co. The company was considered a late entry player to the silver business in America. They originally had its headquarters in Invington, New Jersey but in the year 1895, it relocated to Sag Harbor in New York. It was only in New York where Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company begun introducing silverware based on historical patterns. In the year 1919, the company changed its name to Alvin Silver Co. and in 1928 the company was purchased by Gorham Silver.
