Remember being there or being told the story by parents or grandparents of the excitement of attending a county fair or traveling circus and winning great prizes. It was a thrill to travel the mid-way and play the various games with a chance to win a teddy bear, Kewpie doll or chalk-ware figurine.
This wonderful pair chalk/plaster-ware circus prize is an impressive statue of General George Washington astride his horse dressed in full military attire with right hand on his sword. This piece will definitely bring back great memories of the 1940's and 1950's in small town, rural America. Decorated with air brushed antique gold with glitter on one side. The figure measure 9" in length and 12" in height. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; a small paint skip on the rump of the horse (see photo). Wonderful vintage condition.
