Ceramic Arts Studio, Madison, WI "Peasant Girl" Figurine - image 1 of 6

Ceramic Arts Studio was founded in 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin, by Lawrence Rabbitt and Ruben Sand. Their most popular products were a variety of delightful molded figurines. Most of the pieces were designed by Madison native, Betty Harrington. The pottery closed in 1955.

This lovely figurine portrays a "Peasant Girl". Her attire is so fitting with long dress, puff long sleeves and scarf for her head in white, medium and dark blue, pink and yellow colors to accent her facial features, pink cheeks, lips and dark eyes and hair style. The figure stands 4 3/4" in height and though unmarked is definitely a Ceramic Arts Studio piece; probably had a paper sticker as many early items. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
