In 1896, Thomas Clark Wild bought a pottery in Longton, Stoke on Trent, England, called Albert Works, which had been named the year before in honor of the birth of Prince Albert, who became King George VI in 1936. Using the brand name Albert Crown China, Thomas Wild and Co. produced commemorative bone-china pieces for Queen Victoria's 1897 Diamond Jubilee, and by 1904 had earned a Royal Warrant.

This lovely bone china cup & saucer is decorated in a floral motif. The pattern consists of life-like images of pink tea roses nestled among shaded green foliage and accented with smaller dark blue blossoms on a white blank with gold trim and highlights. The saucer measures 5 1/2" across and the cup measures 3 5/8" across and 3" in height. Both pieces are stamped with the 'bone china' stamp used in the 1960's-1970's. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint condition. Lovely addition to your cup and saucer collection.
