This lovely set of German '800' silver five o'clock spoons are from F. Reusch & Sohne, circa 1900-1920. The company was later absorbed into the Hermann Spliedt Company. The pattern is a delicate Art Deco design of straight lines and delicate displays of flowers and foliage. The spoons measure 5 1/4" in length, are monogrammed "A.A" on the underside as well delicately engraved "K. Hagerstein" which may have been a retailer. Stamped with the German Crescent & Crown mark and anchor mark with "R S" for Reusch & Sohne. The set of 6 weighs 2.7 ounces. Excellent, near mint condition.
The crescent & crown German hallmarking system was unified in 1888 and adopted as the National silver mark; '800' designates the percentage of purity of the silver item.
