R. Wallace & Sons was formed in Wallingford, Connecticut and incorporated in 1879. As of 1893, this company manufactured silver and plated ware and cutlery. Over the years, the Wallace companies had three names: R. Wallace & Sons (-1956), Wallace Brothers Silver Company (1956-1984) and Wallace Silversmiths. Unique for the area, the Wallace companies did not become part of the International Silver Company and maintained its independence.
This lovely pair five o'clock spoons is the "Lucerne" pattern introduced in 1896 and decorated in a detailed motif of delicate scrolls. The spoons measure 5" in length, are monogrammed "E" on the front & "1908" on the back and the pair weighs 1.3 ounces. Stamped with the stag logo and "RW&S Sterling". Very good vintage condition.
