R. Wallace & Sons was formed in Wallingford, Connecticut and incorporated in 1879. As of 1893, this company manufactured silver and plated ware and cutlery. Over the years, the Wallace companies had three names: R. Wallace & Sons (-1956), Wallace Brothers Silver Company (1956-1984) and Wallace Silversmiths. Unique for the area, the Wallace companies did not become part of the International Silver Company and maintained its independence.
This lovely set of 3 dessert/oval soup spoons is the "Rose" pattern and as the name implies is decorated with garlands of embossed rose blossoms and foliage. The spoons measure 7" in length, are not monogrammed and the set of 3 weighs 4.8 ounces. Stamped with the stag logo and "Pat. 1898 - RW&S Sterling". Very good vintage condition.
