Vintage Japanese porcelain figural tea pot, circa 1950's, from the Goldcastle Company. The spout is formed by the neck and head of the camel, while the body of the camel creates the pot. On the lid is a 'Blackamoor' figure, which serves as the finial. Wonderful Japanese designs and colors decorate the tea pot in shades of orange, blue, red, brown, black, gold and white. The tea pot measures 9" from spout-to-handle, 4 1/2" in width and 7 1/2" in height. Stamped in red "Goldcastle", company logo of a pagoda, "Hand Painted - Chikusa - Made in Japan". There is a repaired flake on the lower jaw of the camel's mouth. Priced accordingly. Great find in figural tea pots.
