In 1936 the Red Wing Union Stoneware Company changed its name to Red Wing Pottery, Inc. Some of the various items of stoneware produced by the Red Wing Potteries of Red Wing, Minnesota range from vase, plates, dinnerware, wall pockets, coolers, jugs, figures and trivets. In 1967 the Red Wing Pottery plant closed its doors.
This lovely embossed "Modern" vase was part of the "M" series of designs produced during the 1950's. Overall chartreuse exterior with gray interior. Decorated with 3-dimentional waves shooting upward from the base and surrounding the piece. The oval vase measures 10 1/4" in height with top oval measuring 6 1/2" by 4" Marked on the base "Red Wing - U S A - M-1461". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
