In 1936 the Red Wing Union Stoneware Company changed its name to Red Wing Pottery, Inc. Some of the various items of stoneware produced by the Red Wing Potteries of Red Wing, Minnesota range from vase, plates, dinnerware, wall pockets, coolers, jugs, figures and trivets. In 1967 the Red Wing Pottery plant closed its doors.
This scarce, as well as fantastic, Red Wing Pottery ash tray was first introduced in 1953 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the pottery. The deep red colored wing ash tray measures 7 1/4" in length and 3 1/2" in width. Marked on the underside "Red Wing Potteries - U S A"; this mark was used starting in 1954. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
