Verlys art glass, produced in France after 1931 by the Holophane Company of Verlys, was made in crystal with acid-finished relief work in the Art Deco style. In 1935 an American branch was opened in Newark, Ohio, where very similar wares were produced until 1951. American Verlys was signed "Verlys" with a diamond-tipped pen or impressed in the mold. This lovely console bowl has floral relief decoration, I think Chrysanthemum, is rectangular in shape measuring 10" X 6" and it 4 1/2" high. It stands on a raised base in the roman key pattern. Signed by-hand. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; several tiny nicks along the outer beveled edge that could be professional buffed. A lovely item to compliment any decor.
