The Carl Tielsch Company was organized in Altswasser, Germany (Silesia) in 1845 and continued under this name until the early 1900's.
This lovely vase is decorated with a transfer motif of shaded deep pink and red tea rose blossoms nestled among shaded green foliage against a back-ground of pale to medium green. This factory decorated vase has used a technique called "Mixtion". a process of combining transfer designs along with some hand painted highlights. The scalloped rim is decorated with gold as is the impressive twig-style handles. The base measures 10 1/4" in height, 4" across the top, 5 5/8" across the base and 7" from handle-to-handle. It is stamped in green with the Phoenix logo "C.T. Altwasser - Silesia" and in red "23380 - 63". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
