This gorgeous hand painted cider pitcher was marketed by Blakeman & Henderson, importers of Limoges porcelains into the United States. They commissioned the decorating, which was always of very high quality. It is stamped "Limoges - B & H - France", circa 1890-early 1900's.
The colorful motif is a mix of tea rose blossoms in shades of pink, crimson and yellow nestled among shaded green foliage. The back-ground colors of lavender, white, purple, dark green and gray flow and blend creating a beautiful effect. The handle and rim are gold encrusted. The pitcher measures 6" in height and 8" from spout-to-handle and is signed by the artist "F Mazsere. The porcelain blank is not stamped by the manufacturer. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
