Hand painted china is so beautiful and decorative no matter if executed in a factory decorating department, professional studio or home-studio environment. The quality and subject matter of the finished product is what really matters.
This lovely round covered dresser/jewelry box, circa 1900, is covered with hand painted wild rose blossoms in soft pink with yellow centers, nestled among shaded green, tan and gray foliage, concealing unopened buds, against a powder blue background. The lid is also decorated with delicate gray scrolls covered with with enamel beads, The rim of the lid and rim and base of the bottom is decorated with a band of gold.
The box measures 7" across and 3 3/4" in height. Marked in green on the base "T&V - France" which designates the Tressemann & Vogt, mark used from 1892-1907. It is artist initials are faintly on the base "D K". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint condition. A lovely size and motif covered box for dresser or vanity.
