Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This gorgeous hand painted dresser/serving tray, circa 1880, was created in a small home studio or professional studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The tray is covered with large, misty rose spider mum blossoms nestled among shaded olive green to brown foliage and stems against a creamy background. The sculptured border is decorated with brushed gold as is the floral motif background. The Haviland tray measures 11" in length, 8" in width and is stamped in green "H & Co underlined over L", mark F used 1876-1886. This plate is artist initialed on the base with no cracks, chips or repairs. One of a kind fantastic piece.
