Hand painted china is so beautiful no matter if done in a factory, professional decorating studio or in a small home-studio environment. The overall quality of the piece is what really matters. This beautiful dresser vanity set was expertly decorated in a home-studio.
The set, circa 1910, consists of a dresser tray, two covered round boxes, pin tray, ring tree and hat pin holder. The matching motif on each piece incorporates delicate golden yellow crocus blossoms with narrow brown leaves against a creamy yellow background accented with tan & brown highlights and gold trim. All pieces, except the hat pin holder and ring tree are stamped "La Seynie - Limoges - P & P - France", which designates the Paratoud Freres Company, circa 1903-1917. Each piece is initialed by the artist "C.K.L." and the studio mark of a leaf. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
The dresser tray, with rounded corners, measures 10" in length and 7 5/8" across at the widest parts.
The larger round box measures 3" across and 2 1/2" in height.
The smaller round box measures 2 1/2" across and 1 3/4" in height.
The pin tray measures 3 1/2" in length and 2 3/4" across.
The hat pin holder measures 5" in height.
The ring tree measures measures 3" across the base and 2 1/2" in height.
