While the Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire Ohio, was first organized in 1901 by a group of local investors, it wasn't until January 1904, that the first glass was made, and not until almost five years later that the beautiful iridized glass known as carnival was created.
This gorgeous Imperial amethyst carnival ruffled bowl is the "Pansy" pattern in their electric finish. The center displays a cluster of pansy blossoms, buds and foliage against a stippled background outlined by a row composed of numerous fine lines. The exterior is Imperial's overlapping "Arcs" or peacock tail pattern. The various iridescent colors are breathtaking to say the least. The bowl measures 9" across, 2 1/2" in height and is unmarked. There are no cracks, chips, repairs; near mint.
