During the 1940-1950 era the trend for stylish vanity items sweep the American market. Some of the major producers were Stylebuilt, Matson, Guildcrest, Globe, Astorloid and Regent of London. They created perfume bottles, jewelry caskets, hand-mirrors, brushes, combs and trays from gold-tone metal and glass for sale in department, drug and jewelry stores. Many of the pieces were 24k gold plated and were usually marked with foil labels.
This lovely triangular-shape jewelry casket is a combination of beautiful scrolls and floral in a metal filigree frame, glass hinged lid and tan plush base. The casket measures 5" across the back, 4 1/4" along the sides, 2" across the front and 3" in height. It is marked with the original black and gold foil label "Kt Gold Plated - Guaranteed Nontarnishable" (the 24 is missing),
