Hand painted china is so beautiful and decorative no matter if executed in a factory decorating department, professional studio or home-studio environment. The quality and subject matter of the finished product is what really matters.
This lovely round covered powder jar, circa 1910, is adorned with hand painted rose blossoms in shades of pink and red nestled among shaded green, gray, brown and blue leaves against a shaded dark green, rich brown, light pink & light blue background. The delicate arched handle is decorated with gold. A lovely feature is the decoration flows from the lid unto the base in complete unison.
The powder jar measures 4 3/4" across and 3 1/2" in height. Marked in green on the base "H C Royal Bavaria - Patent Applied For" which designates a U.S. importers mark for white-ware porcelain from European factories. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; gold wear on the handle. Artist signed on the base "G. Vuckel".
