Hand Painted porcelain is so beautiful no matter if executed in a factory decorating department, professional studio or home-studio environment. The quality and subject matter of the finished product is what really matters.
This lovely round covered dresser/jewelry box, circa 1900, is covered with clusters of hand painted pastel pink rose blossoms and small purple floral, nestled among shaded green foliage against a muted background of pale pink, mint green and pastel blue. The rim of the lid and base is decorated with a band of gold.
The box measures 7" across and 3 1/2" in height. Marked in green on the base "T&V - Limoges - France" which designates the Tressemann & Vogt, mark used from 1892-1907 and the artist "R. D. Hope - Xmas 1902". There are no cracks or repairs; there are two porcelain/paint chips on the out rim of the base (see photos). Gorgeous motif.
