The carnival glass of interest to most collectors is an iridized pressed glass that was produced from shortly after the turn of the century into the late 1920's. Starting in 1907, the Fenton Art Glass Company became the first company to produce this type of glass and became one of the leading producers.
This lovely ruffled candy dish is the Sailboat pattern, circa 1910. A unique pattern which incorporates cartouches of sailboat scenes on the interior and the orange tree pattern on the exterior. The bowl has gorgeous iridescent shades of rich marigold with rose and blue highlights. The ruffled bowl measures 6" across and 2" in height. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. Great pattern.
