Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful set of 4 hand painted luncheon/cabinet plates, circa 1900, was created in a small home studio or professional studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
Each plate is decorated with a different floral arrangement; blue & pink forget-me-not, pink wild clover, yellow day lilies and variegated pink rose blossoms, nestled among appropriate foliage. The gently scalloped and embossed borders are gold highlighted. They are not artist signed.
The Haviland plates measures 8 1/2" across and are stamped in green "H & Co. over L over France", mark 'H' used 1888-1896. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint condition.
