Livesley Powell & Company, Stafford Street Works and Church Works, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, operated from 1851-1866. When Mr Livesley left the business it was renamed Powell & Bishop from 1867-1877 and subsequently Powell, Bishop & Stonier from 1878-1891.
This wonderful white ironstone coffee pot, circa 1851-1866, presents an octagonal shape, graceful handle, spout and finial decorated with copper lustre bands and designs. It measures 9" in height, 8 1/2" from spout-to-handle and 5 1/4" across the base. Impressed within a rectangular cartouche on the base "Ironstone - China - Livesley Powell". There are several condition issues; two insignificant tiny nicks on the inside rim of the pot and the top of the final has been reattached at some time.
