A wonderful Bennington or Rockingham cuspidor, circa 1850, with rich medium brown tobacco glaze over yellow-ware base. The round man's cuspidor measures 7 1/2" in width and 4 3/4" in height with pour spout on the side. The top has embossed ridges that slope inward to the intake opening. The exterior has a unique raised diamond and triangle motif. The overall condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. A scarce and desirable form with beautiful glaze.
