Scenic tile, circa 1930's, that has been framed in an oak frame, creating a lovely wall plaque. The motif is that of a peaceful Dutch canal or coastal scene with imposing windmill, buildings, trees, sailing vessels, canal and people walking about. The pallet is shaded white, gray and purple.

The tile measures 6" square and 7 1/2" square with the frame. The framing is a later addition. I did not want to remove the paper backing etc., so do not know if the tile carries a makers mark. The photos show evidence of crazing and some minor staining. The crazing is not nearly as evident in person as the photos show. I have another matching tile in my store with a different Dutch canal or coastal scene.
