Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted cabinet plate was created in a small home studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism. It is part of a collection by a contemporary artist, circa 1960-1980, that is as good as the professional decorating studios of the early 1900's. The pieces are on unmarked porcelain blanks and are either signed "C Baver", "C B" or some are unsigned.
This beautiful covered dresser/trinket box portrays a placid lake scene with a lone boater floating along. On one side is a tree lined beach with image of an individual and on the other side a mountain in the distance. The pallet of earthy variegated shades of tan, brown rusty red, purple, blue and yellow are gorgeous. The rectangular box measures 7 3/4" in length, 5 3/4" across and 2 1/2" in height, with no cracks, chips or repairs. It is artist signed "C B" on the underside.
