Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted cabinet plate was created in a small home studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism. It is part of a collection by a contemporary artist, circa 1960-1980, that is as good as the professional decorating studios of the early 1900's. The pieces are on unmarked porcelain blanks and are either signed "C Baver", "C B" or some are unsigned.
This gorgeous plate depicts an Anise Swallowtail Butterfly sitting on a branch of flowers. The exquisite shades of the black, yellow, blue and russet butterfly against the white porcelain blank with ribbons of mustard yellow and pastel blue is beautiful. The plate measures 7 1/4" across with no cracks, chips or repairs. Initialed by the artist "C B".
