Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted cabinet plate, circa 1880's, was created in a small home studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The plate features several stems of gorgeous white Easter Lilies with long golden stamens and several unopened buds nestled among long, slender shaded green leaves. A rectangular cartouche in the center of the plate depicts a rural scene of a house snuggled among trees and shrubbery along a placid lake with an evening sunset on the horizon. The background colors shade from yellow/brown to pastel yellow with narrow gold trim on the gently scalloped rim.
The Haviland plate measures 8 1/4" across and is stamped in green "H & Co underlined over L", mark F used 1876-1889. This plate also carries the artist's initials "F H H" and the year "87". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. One of a kind beautiful piece.
