Glass making in the Czech lands has a thousand years, uninterrupted history in creativity and craftsmanship. Czech glass making held its' dominance through the early 20th century and until the Nazi invasion of 1938, when world markets disappeared in the smoke and ruin of World War II.
This beautiful amber to clear wheel-cut and engraved decanter, circa 1920-1940, consists of bulls-eyes and elongated panels near the base and top of the piece including the stopper. Encircling the body of the decanter is a wide band of wheel-cut and engraved grape clusters, leaves and vines. The decanter measures 13 1/2" in height and 3" across the base. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
