Redlich Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Floral Pattern Footed Bowl - image 1 of 9

The Redlich Sterling Silver Company, New York, New York, had its origin as Ludwig, Redlich & Co. in 1890 and became Redlich & Co. in 1895. It was purchased by the Elgin Silver Smith Co. in 1946.

This fantastic sterling silver bowl, circa 1900, is from the company's early and elegant days of production. Redlich & Co. was always highly regarded for their quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and unique designs. This fantastic Art Nouveau period sterling bowl is surrounded by embossed floral in a variety of summer blossoms, including roses, daisies, and many more, while the edge is decorated with a swirl and scallop motif. The deep 3-dimensional realistic design is beautiful. The bowl rests on a raised, flared base and measures 8" across and 4" in height. The base is stamped with the Redlich "Lion" mark, "Sterling" and "1863" the pattern number. The bowl weighs an impressive 19.2 ounces and has a wonder dark patina created over the years. It could be polished to a high shine, but I will leave that decision to the new owner. There are no damages or condition issues. Fabulous piece by a premier silver company for the Art Nouveau period.
