Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted tea cup and saucer, circa 1900, was created in a small home studio or professional studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The motif is beautiful variegated pale yellow wild rose blossoms nestled among soft shaded blue/gray leaves with cascading foliage of pastel gray with background highlights of pastel yellow, blue and hints of pink against the white porcelain blanks. The cup has gold encrusted loop handle with gold rim on both pieces. The saucer measures 5" across and the cup measures 2 3/4" across and 2 3/8" in height. The porcelain blanks are unmarked; perhaps Bavaria. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
