Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted tea cup and saucer, circa 1900, was created in a small home studio or professional studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The motif is gorgeous golden blackeye susan blossoms and buds nestled among soft green leaves with other wild grasses included in the mix against the white porcelain blanks. The tall cup has a graceful, gold encrusted handle for added accent. The gently scalloped saucer measures 5 3/8" across and the cup measures 2 3/4" across and 3" in height. Both pieces are stamped in green R C and Crown mark used by Philipp Rosenthal, circa 1891-1906. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
