Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted cabinet plate, circa 1890, was created in a small home studio or professional studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism. This is one of seven plates from a set by the same artist depicting unique pieces of art.
The center of the plate portrays a picturesque European castle surrounded by trees and gardens overlooking a placid river. The wide border of the octagonal shaped Haviland blank is a soft dusty rose with gold edge.
The Haviland plate measures 9" across and is stamped in green "H & Co underlined over L", mark F used 1876-1889. This plate is artist initialed and dated in black "JTR/92". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; minor gold wear. One of a kind fantastic piece.
