Depression Era Cobalt Blue Glass "Tumble Up"Depression Era Cobalt Blue Glass "Tumble Up"Depression Era Cobalt Blue Glass "Tumble Up"

A bedside carafe is also known as a tumble-up on today’s market. The word "carafe" is derived from Arabic "gharrafa," meaning a drinking vessel. Glass bedside carafes are exquisite night stand decanters. The lid on this type of carafes doubles as a drinking glass.

This lovely Depression era cobalt blue glass tumble up, circa 1930s, has a unique shape and fantastic color. The decanter stands 6 1/4" in height and 3 3/4" across the widest part; the tumbler measures 2 3/4" in height and 2 1/8" across. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
