The Booths (Limited), Tunstall, Staffordshire Potteries, operated from 1891-1948. It was formerly called T. G. & F. Booth and subsequently Booths & Colclough, Ltd.
This lovely semi-porcelain oval serving platter, circa 1891, is called the "Princess May" pattern. The pattern consists of a variety of early spring blossoms, buds and foliage spread over the white porcelain blank. The wide border of the gently scalloped blank has an embossed design. The platter measures 16 1/2" in length, 12 1/2" in width and is stamped in blue with a Crown and "Royal Semi-Porcelain - Princess May Pattern - Booths - England - Rd No 18317?"; it also carries an impressed mark "RD NO 184804". There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
