The carnival glass of interest to most collectors is a iridized pressed glass that was produced from shortly after the turn of the century into the late 1920's. Starting in 1907, the Fenton Art Glass Company became the first company to produce this type of glass and became one of the leading producers.
This lovely gently flared green carnival bowl is the "Stippled Rays" pattern. From the center of the bowl narrow rays extend to the smooth outer edge. The rays have alternating smooth and stippled finish creating a beautiful image. The bowl measures 8 1/4" across; 2 3/8" in height and rests on a collar base which is 2 5/8" across. The exterior is a smooth green finish. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. The variation of rich rose and blue/green colors with sharp details are great.
