The carnival glass of interest to most collectors is a iridized pressed glass that was produced from shortly after the turn of the century into the late 1920's. Starting in 1907, the Fenton Art Glass Company became the first company to produce this type of glass and became one of the leading producers.
This lovely flared blue carnival bowl is the "Acorn" pattern. The center of the bowl is decorated with acorns and leaves and gently flares out into a ruffled edge. It measures 7 1/2" across; 2 1/8" in height and rests on a collar base which is 2 3/4" across. The exterior is a plain smooth finish. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. The variation of rich blue and rose colors and sharp details are great.
