A wonderful miniature folk art cross made in the tradition of tramp art, circa 1900. The cross is composed of graduated layers of heavy punched paper, the type which was used in the late 1800's thru early 1900's as the base for cross-stitch and other stitchery projects. The largest size cross has five distinct graduated layers on each side for a total of eleven layers. The delicate craftsmanship and detail is fabulous. The cross measures 2" in length, 1 1/2" in width and is excellent condition with only a small portion of the top layer missing on one side of the piece. A one-of-a-kind piece for your enjoyment.
