A. Micallef and Company, Providence, RI was founded in 1919. The company manufactured gold, gold filled and silver jewelry including rings, cameo brooches, pendants, bracelets and earrings. AMCO jewelry has stunning designs comparable to Van Dell and Krementz and is of high quality. The company ceased doing business in the 1970's.
This lovely pair of cameo earrings, circa 1950-1960, portray the profile of a beautiful Victorian lady with up-swept hair style and flower adorning the one shoulder of her gown. The cameos are prong mounted to a rectangular base with screw post for additional safety. The caps for the posts are stamped "AMCO 10K"; I am assuming this is solid 10K gold and not plating, but can not be sure as the company did both. Near mint condition with great color and detail.
