Two lovely pieces of jewelry that can be worn together, separately or paired with other pieces.
The first is a fantastic Unger Brothers "Poppy" design watch lapel pin, circa 1900-1910. The Unger Brothers Company was in operation from 1872 - 1910 in Newark, New Jersey. Noted for its quality workmanship it was especially known for their beautiful Art Nouveau creations. This wonderful "Poppy" watch lapel pin measures 7/8" across and is stamped "UB - Sterling - 925 - Fine". There are no damages; slight curve in pin wire; wonderful original patina.
The accompanying piece is a lovely sterling silver ladies lapel watch that has been converted into a wonderful locket with a darling image of a young girl child under the glass (the image is a tin lapel pin disk). The case is delicately embossed with scrolls along the front, geometric figures along the edge and beautiful scrolls, ferns and a Griffin figure etched on the back. The case measures 1 1/4" across and the two pieces combined measures 2 1/2" in length. The watch case is from the New England Watch Co., Waterbury, Connecticut, which operated from 1898-1914 and later reorganized as the Timex Watch Co. It is stamped inside with "N E" within a heart, "Sterling" & "Z". There are no damages, beautiful pattern and nice patina.
