The carnival glass of interest to most collectors is a iridized pressed glass that was produced from shortly after the turn of the century into the late 1920's. Starting in 1907, the Fenton Art Glass Company became the first company to produce this type of glass and became one of the leading producers.
This lovely flared, ruffled bowl in the Grape & Cable pattern was first produced in 1909. It measures 7 1/2" across; 2 1/8" in height and rests on a collar base which is 2 3/4" across. The interior motif consists of branches of lush clusters of grapes and leaves radiating from the center of the bowl. The exterior is a plain smooth finish. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
