Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted serving bowl, circa 1910, was created in a small home studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The motif is a colorful panorama of life in the ocean, which includes sea shells of various types and aquatic vegetation. The entire color pallet is utilized to create exciting life-like images and contrasts on the entire piece. The slightly oval shaped bowl measures 10 1/2" in length, 9 1/2" across and 1 5/8" in height. The fantastic sculptured handle and embossed edge is gold gilt. The china blank is unmarked as to manufacturer and sadly the artist forgot to include a signature. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. Truly a piece of art.
