The Van Briggle Art Pottery was established in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1901 by Artus and Anne Van Briggle. Artus had a significant impact on the Art Nouveau movement in the United States, and his pottery is foundational to American Art Pottery.

Artus Van Briggle settled in Colorado Springs in 1899 after establishing himself as a notable artist with the Rookwood Pottery of Ohio. With Anne Louise, his new wife, Artus began exploring the Art Nouveau style in their pottery creations and from 1899 until his death Artus devoted himself almost exclusively to the craft and art of pottery.

This wonderful Van Briggle 'Handled Laundry Basket", circa 1970's, is in their famous Turquoise Ming glaze. The oblong shaped, handled basket has sharp molded details and lovely color. The basket measures 3 1/2" in height, 3 1/2" across and 5 1/2" in length. It is marked in script with the "Conjoined A's" company logo, 'Van Briggle - Colo Spgs'. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
