Hand painted china is so beautiful no matter if done in a factory, professional decorating studio or in a small home-studio environment. The overall quality of the piece is what really matters. This beautiful oval dresser/serving tray, circa 1900, was expertly decorated in a home-studio environment.
The floral subject matter and professional execution of this tray is exceptional. The piece is fully decorated with gorgeous pastel pink and stunning red rose blossoms nestled among delicate leaves in shades of variegated green, brown and aqua against a mottled background of cream, light aqua and hints of vivid pink. The raised rim is edged with gold. The tray measures 12 1/4" in length and 9 3/4" across. The porcelain blank is stamped "T & V Limoges France", circa 1892-1907. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; the rim has several irregular manufacturing flaws and minor gold loss. Wonderful piece for display or use.
