The Prairie Studio in Lidgerwood, North Dakota, was owned and operated by artist Ida Bisek Prokop, known for her picture compositions that included native wildflowers, grasses and feathers arranged on airbrush painted backgrounds. Ida Bisek Prokop, 1902-1990, a talented, largely self-taught, eclectic artist was born in South Dakota and raised in North Dakota. In 1947 she remarried and began to use her surname "Lee" when signing her artwork
This beautiful, hand-made picture, circa 1940's, consists of a floral arrangement created from June Grass, Love Grass, Sprangletop Grass, Dill, Male Pheasant Feathers and Chicken Feathers. The rich colors of the grasses and earth tones of the natural feathers in tune with the appropriate airbrush colored background is astounding. The original wood frame measures 8 7/8" X 10 3/4" in size, with paper backing explaining the artwork and the materials used to create it. Artist signed on the front "I Bisek Prokop". Wonderful, near mint condition with no damages. An additional picture is also in my store.
