Most Mexican jewelry found today was made between 1940 and the present. After 1947 Mexican sterling is marked "Made in Mexico" and "sterling" and/or the mark "925" or "940". Between 1947 and 1979, an eagle stamp was also used.
This gorgeous pair of clip-back earrings, circa 1950's, portray a 3-dimensional cluster of grapes and leaves. The earrings measure 1 3/4" in length and 1 5/8" in width. One earring is stamped with a triangular mark "Mexico - 925 - Taxco". Great detail and form with no damages and light patina.
