Victor Primavera Sr., founded the Danecraft company, Providence, Rhode Island, is the 1940's. Danecraft is known for producing quality sterling silver and vermeil (gold metal over sterling) jewelry with designs similar to the Scandinavian silver jewelry and often inspired by nature. It is said, that the Danecraft sterling silver jewelry produced, was some of the best manufactured in terms of quality of design and craftsmanship the industry had to offer during post-war decades.
This beautiful "leaf" necklace and earrings set, circa 1950's, consists of exquisitely designed leaves with long curled stems. The necklace is composed of eleven individual leaves joined together by oval rings and fastened with a spring-ring clasp. The piece measures 16" in length and 5/8" in width. One leaf is stamped on an oval cartouche "Danecraft R Sterling" and the necklace also has it's original foil hang-tag marked "Danecraft Sterling" and "Original Primavera Creations". The screw-back earrings consist of a single leaf that measures 1 1/4" in length, 5/8" in width and are each stamped "Danecraft R Sterling" on the screw mechanism. There are no condition issues, near mint condition and probably never worn. It's time to be enjoyed.
