This lovely Mexican sterling silver figural brooch is that of the exotic Parrot bird perched on a branch. Mexico is the home of over twenty different species of parrots, many of which make their home in the dense rain forest.
The brooch, circa 1900-1910, has wonderful detailing on the entire bird, especially the wings and tail feathers. The parrot measures 3 1/2" in length, 2" in width and has a "C" clasp which the last used around 1910. The piece is stamped "Silver" & "Mexico". It is in lovely vintage condition with no issues and fantastic aged patina.
