Hand painted porcelain is so beautiful no matter if done in a factory, professional decorating studio or a small home studio environment. The overall quality of the piece is what really matters.
This lovely hand painted cabinet plate, circa 1915, is the product of a home studio. The artist took a white porcelain blank and with pastel colors and gold gilt created a simple, yet stunning piece of art. The plate is expertly decorated with a swag of white daisy blossoms, yellow centers, nestled among variegated green-blue foliage. The background is muted shades of pastel blue, pink, gray and creamy yellow with a gold edge. The plate is signed on the front "A C Dewey". The porcelain blank measures 7 3/4" across and is stamped in green "Eagle China - Austria". There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Lovely motif in a pallet of peaceful colors.
